Berlin Brandenburg Airport - The airport for the capital region
Berlin Brandenburg Airport – the new airport for Berlin and Brandenburg
The stage is set for the future – in September 2006, work was started on expanding Schoenefeld Airport into the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport. As of 2012, all air traffic for the Berlin-Brandenburg region will be concentrated at the airport in the south-east of the city. In the first step, Tempelhof Airport was closed on 30 October 2008. Tegel Airport will be closed in 2012 when BER opens.
