Film recordings and photography as part of current news reporting are generally possible by prior arrangement in the public areas of Berlin's airports Schoenefeld and Tegel.
Where required, permits can be issued at short notice upon receipt of a fax or an E-mail giving information about the shoot. Please provide details about the date, location, motif, reason for the work and the timeframe.
Public areas:
These include, for example, the terminals and customs facilities and the access road, galleries and observation terraces, where available.
Please note that not all motifs are our sole responsibility. The individual airlines decide about filming on their aircraft, the tower is operated by German air traffic control, passenger and freight processing are undertaken by handling companies, while customs and police issues are dealt with by the relevant authority. In other words, such decisions are taken by several companies. We will gladly provide contacts and/or help with coordination. Capacity bottlenecks or political restrictions may cause requests to shoot or take photographs being rejected without explanation.
Security areas:
These include the apron, departure lounges, passenger gangways and hangars.
Filming and photography in the security areas is only possible if arranged far in advance and is subject to supplementary conditions. Security equipment and personnel may not generally be photographed or filmed.
Film shoots and photography:
Kindly note that providing clearance with the transportation authorities and airport security for extensive film productions may take several days. To initiate the procedure we require details about the date and duration of shooting, start time, the number of people involved and the desired motifs.
NB: In the event of an accident or a definite threat, permits may be restricted, withdrawn or moved to another date without explanation.
Requests for film or photography permits should be addressed to Press office at the Berlin airports.
