Road construction for BBI to start in October / Contract awarded to a company from the Berlin-Brandenburg region
Berlin Airports announced today that a further major contract for the new capital city airport BBI has been awarded. The contract to build the private roads at the airport was awarded to the consortium Porr Deutschland GmbH / Matthäi Bauunternehmen GmbH & Co. KG, which is based in the Berlin-Brandenburg region.
“We are pleased to have awarded the contract to build the primary road network for BBI to a company which has committed to adhere to both our time plan and budget. Construction work will begin in October 2007,” said Thomas Weyer, Berlin Airports’ BBI/Technical Director.
The complete contract comprises the construction of the terminal access road on two levels, the new feeder road for the A113 motorway and the connecting road to the B96a, the construction of 19 bridges and diverse supporting walls.
