3rd Berlin AirportRUN 2008
Finally, on 29 June 2008, Berlin Airports is inviting all running fans to the 3rd AirportRUN at Schoenefeld Airport in cooperation with SCC-RUNNING. Last year's AirportRUN was a huge success – that's why once again this year it's "trainers on, get set, go".
Runners can experience the true atmosphere of the airport over a distance of 21,0975 km (approx. 13.1 miles): the route takes runners past the runways, around Schoenefeld Airport and across the BBI construction site, which is equivalent to the size of 2,000 football pitches. This gives participants the opportunity to see for themselves what progress is being made on the construction site – something which is usually only possible from the observation platform of the BBI Infotower. Just under two years after the official start of construction, the site for the new Capital Airport is unrecognisable: cranes are turning, diggers are rolling, concrete is flowing. And the newly opened BBI Infotower has transformed the construction site into a showplace. But not only the runners can get a taste of airport air at the AirportRUN. Visitors and spectators can take a free tour of the construction site. Plus all running fans can look forward to a closing event with an awards ceremony, tombola and snacks at the end of the 3rd AirportRUN.
Get the 2008 running summer off to a great start – as a participant or a spectator – with lots of fun and success at Berlin Airports' 3rd AirportRUN!
