What is the FTAZ?

The Fire Service Education and Training Centre (FTAZ) is located in the non-public-access area, near the Schoenefeld Airport Fire Station. The Training Centre provides a near-real training experience, including the following practice scenarios:

• Area fire with aircraft mock-up (up to 520 sqm)
• Landing gear fire
• Engine fire
• Wing fire

• bedroom fire / bed
• kitchen fire / deep-fat fryer
• workshop fire / gas bottles
• flash-over / back draught

Capacity and equipment

Training capacity:

The training site is set up for max. 24 participants. A classroom for max. 24 participants is available for theoretical training.

Parking:

Sufficient parking spaces for fire tenders are available

Advanced technical equipment:

• Computerised control station with manual intervention option
• Continuous propane gas supply with parallel operation of all systems (total volume: 29t)
• Water supply via pump system/water pond
• Water practice also possible without vehicle
• All-area video monitoring
